We are excited and delighted to be hosting this respected forum for the first time in the Middle East. ABOUT DUBAI

Once a small fishing village in the Arabian Gulf, Dubai is today one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world. One of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates, the city is home to more than 200 nationalities and offers an unforgettable experience to all visitors. Whether it is by the banks of the Creek, or at the top of the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, Dubai lives and breathes a sense of possibility and innovation. And with an unparalleled coastline, beautiful desert and magnificent cityscapes, memories are just waiting to be made here.

Established in the 18th century, the village grew rapidly in the early 21st century into a vibrant city with a focus on tourism and luxury, having the second most five-star hotels in the world, and the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa, which is 828 meters (2,717 ft) tall.

In the eastern Arabian Peninsula on the coast of the Arabian Gulf, it is also a major global transport hub for passengers and cargo. A center for regional and international trade since the early 20th century, historically, Dubai and its twin across Dubai Creek, Deira (independent of Dubai City at that time), were important ports of call for Western manufacturers. Most of the new city’s banking and financial centers were headquartered in the port area. Dubai maintained its importance as a trade route through the 1970s and 1980s. Dubai’s Jebel Ali port, constructed in the 1970s, has the largest man-made harbor in the world and was ranked seventh globally for the volume of container traffic it supports.
